Common questions

FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we get most often. Don't see yours? Call (918) 893-9595 — we love talking roofs.

How much does a new roof cost in Tulsa?
Most full residential roof replacements in the Tulsa area run between $9,000 and $22,000, depending on the size of the home, pitch, shingle grade, and any existing damage. We give every customer a free, written, line-item estimate — no ballpark guesses, no high-pressure sales.
Do you handle insurance claims?
Yes — it's one of the things we're best known for. We've handled thousands of hail and wind claims since 1994. We'll meet your adjuster on the roof, document the damage, line-item the scope, and bill your insurance directly. In most cases, you only pay your deductible.
How long does a new roof take to install?
For an average single-family home, we tear off the old roof and install the new one in a single day. Larger or steeper homes may take two days. Commercial projects vary based on size and material.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
Every full reroof comes with a manufacturer's material warranty (typically 30–50 years, with lifetime options) and our own workmanship guarantee. We stand behind our installs — period.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We partner with several top lenders to offer flexible financing options — including 0% intro APR plans and no-payment-for-18-months programs. Pre-qualification is a soft credit pull and takes a few minutes.
What areas do you serve?
All of Green Country — Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Bixby, Jenks, Owasso, Sand Springs, Coweta, Catoosa, Glenpool, Sapulpa, Wagoner, Claremore, and surrounding communities. If you're not sure, give us a call.
What shingle brands do you install?
We're certified installers for GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed — three of the top-rated shingle manufacturers in North America. We'll help you pick the grade, color, and warranty level that fits your home and budget.

Insurance & Claims

Will my insurance cover a new roof?
If your roof has hail, wind, or storm damage within your policy period, yes — most homeowners policies in Oklahoma cover full replacement after your deductible. We provide a free inspection and damage report to determine whether it’s worth filing a claim.
What if my claim gets denied?
We’ll request a reinspection and meet the adjuster on the roof with documentation, measurements, and photos. If the damage is legitimate, we usually get the decision overturned. In 30+ years, we’ve overturned more denied claims than we can count.
Will filing a claim raise my rates?
A single storm claim typically does not raise rates because weather events are classified as “acts of God,” not driver/homeowner fault. Rates are more commonly driven by regional loss trends. Your agent can confirm specifics for your policy.
Do I pay anything besides my deductible?
On most approved claims, no. You pay your deductible, the insurance pays us the approved scope, and any upgrades you choose (e.g. premium shingles, upgraded ventilation) are the only add-on cost. Everything is transparent and written in your agreement.
How long do I have to file a storm claim?
Most Oklahoma carriers allow up to one year from the date of loss, but some carriers shorten that window to 180 days. Don’t wait — call us as soon as you think a storm may have caused damage. We’ll inspect free and help you document the date of loss.

Storm & Emergency Repairs

Can you tarp my roof after a storm?
Yes — we provide 24/7 emergency tarping for any roof in our service area. Call (918) 893-9595 and we’ll get a crew out to stop the water damage while you wait for full repairs.
What should I do right after hail damage?
Stay off the roof yourself. Take ground-level photos of obvious damage (dented gutters, siding, AC fins). Document the date and time. Call us for a free inspection — we’ll handle the rest, including talking to your insurance carrier.
Can you fix just a leak without replacing the whole roof?
Absolutely. We do targeted leak repairs all the time — flashing, boot replacements, missing shingles, valley repairs. We’ll never upsell you to a full replacement if a repair is appropriate.
How fast can you respond after a storm?
Emergency tarping within 24 hours in our core service area. Full inspections usually within 48 hours. Major storms can extend the window — but because we’re local, we beat out-of-state “storm chasers” every time.
Do you work on weekends after a big storm?
Yes. After a major storm event, our crews work Saturdays and emergency Sundays to keep up with tarping and inspection requests. Our phones are monitored 24/7.

Materials & Installation

What’s the difference between 3-tab and architectural shingles?
3-tab shingles are thinner, flatter, and last 20–25 years. Architectural (aka dimensional or laminate) shingles are thicker, heavier, have a dimensional shadow look, and last 30–50 years. We install architectural on 99% of our jobs — the cost difference is small and the value is massive.
Do you install metal roofs?
Yes — standing seam, exposed fastener, and stone-coated steel. Metal is a great fit for Oklahoma hail: most systems carry Class 4 impact ratings and can earn you a significant insurance discount.
What is impact-resistant (Class 4) shingle?
Class 4 is the highest UL-2218 impact rating. These shingles are reinforced to resist hail up to 2" in diameter without cracking. Most Oklahoma carriers offer 15–35% premium discounts for Class 4 roofs — often paying for the upgrade in a few years.
Can you put a new roof over my old one?
Technically yes, but we don’t recommend it. Overlay shortens the new roof’s life, hides underlying damage, voids most manufacturer warranties, and usually voids insurance coverage for future claims. We always recommend a full tear-off.
Do you replace the underlayment and flashing?
Every time. Every Maxx install includes full tear-off, new synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water shield in valleys and penetrations, new drip edge, new flashing, new pipe boots, and new ridge vent as needed. No cut corners.
How do I pick a shingle color?
Use our shingle visualizer right here on the site — upload a photo of your home and see any GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed color previewed on your actual roof. Or request physical samples during your free estimate.
Can I use my roof for solar panels?
Absolutely. We’ll recommend a shingle system rated for solar mounts and install it with future penetrations in mind. If you’re planning panels within 5 years, tell us — we’ll coordinate with your solar installer.

Cost, Financing & Process

Is the inspection and estimate really free?
Yes. 100% free. No trip charge, no consultation fee, no “we’ll apply it to the project” asterisk. Our estimators measure your roof, check your attic, photograph any damage, and give you a written quote. Keep it or toss it — no obligation.
How do I get pre-qualified for financing?
Our lending partner runs a soft credit pull (no impact on your score) that takes about 60 seconds. You’ll see the rate, term, and monthly payment before committing. Check our monthly payment calculator for a preview.
Do you require a deposit?
For insurance work, no deposit — we bill the carrier. For cash or financed work, a small deposit is typical to order materials. The remainder is due when the job passes final inspection and you’re 100% happy.
What payment methods do you accept?
Check, bank transfer (ACH), credit card, and insurance direct-pay. We also offer financing through top-rated lenders with soft-pull pre-qualification.
How does the process work from start to finish?
1) Free inspection & written estimate. 2) Insurance approval or financing (if needed). 3) Material selection and install date. 4) One-day install for most homes. 5) Final QC walk-through and cleanup. 6) You’re covered by our workmanship warranty and the manufacturer’s material warranty.
Will you clean up after the install?
Every square inch. Magnetic nail sweeps of the driveway, lawn, and flower beds. Tarps protect landscaping during tear-off. Most customers tell us the yard is cleaner when we leave than when we arrived.
What if it rains during my install?
We watch the forecast closely and reschedule if rain is likely. If weather catches us mid-job, the open sections are dried-in with underlayment and tarps to keep your home 100% dry.

Warranty & After-Install

What’s covered under your workmanship warranty?
Any installation-related leak or defect for the life of the warranty (typically 10 years, extendable to lifetime with our GAF Golden Pledge option). If we installed it and it fails, we fix it free. Period.
Is your warranty transferable if I sell my house?
Yes. The manufacturer warranty is fully transferable to one subsequent owner (some up to two), which boosts home resale value. Our workmanship coverage is also transferable on request.
How often should I have my roof inspected?
Once a year, plus after any significant hail or wind event. Our maintenance plan includes annual inspections, debris cleanup, and a full condition report you can use for insurance documentation.
What are signs I need a new roof?
Curling or missing shingles, granules in your gutters, interior water stains, daylight in the attic, shingle age 20+ years, sagging rooflines. If you see any of these, call us for a free inspection.
How long does a roof last in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma’s hail and UV exposure typically shortens shingle life to 15–20 years on 3-tab, 20–30 years on architectural, and 40–50+ years on premium or impact-resistant systems. Proper ventilation makes a huge difference.

About Maxx Roofing

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes — fully licensed by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB), bonded, and carry general liability plus workers’ comp. We’ll happily send a copy of our certificate of insurance before any job.
Do you offer commercial roofing?
Yes — TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, and metal systems for warehouses, retail centers, churches, and multi-family. We phase work around your business hours to keep you operational.
Why choose Maxx over a national chain?
Three reasons: we’re local (not going anywhere), our owners answer the phone, and our crews are employees — not subcontracted day labor. When something needs fixing five years from now, we’re still right here in Broken Arrow.
Are you a storm chaser?
Absolutely not. We’ve had the same Broken Arrow address since 1994. We don’t chase storms; we live where the storms happen. Avoid any roofer who knocks on your door right after a storm from out-of-state plates.
Can I see examples of your work?
Of course — scroll through our Google reviews, ask for a reference list of recent installs in your specific neighborhood. We’re proud of every job.
How do I get started?
Three options: call (918) 893-9595, fill out the free estimate form, or text us using the chat bubble at the bottom-right. We answer fast.
